Middletown red tape

In The Journal today there was an article on Butler County Water Service. They will extend the summer sewer credit to include May and September. This will be a total of 5 months (May thru September). The program reduces sewer bills for water customers during summer months when a lot of water is used in lawns and swimming pools and never enters the sewer system. Butler County Water Service makes it simple they look at the amount of water used during winter months, and if the customer uses more water in summer months they deduct sewer charge on the excess amount. Well now let us look the way Middletown handles this. First purchase a deduct meter from The City at a cost of $300 to $500. Also you will need a permit cost $60 to $100. Have a plumber install necessary piping to accommodate the deduct meter $1000 to $3000. Don’t forget you will need a final inspection $50 to $100. This is just one example of all the red tape that comes with living or doing business in Middletown. The City could save money if they would turn water services over to Butler County. There would be no more employee or repair cost.
