Eventually Jay Bruce has gotta get a look.

I think Griffey would be happier back in Seattle.

Josh Hamilton has a problem staying healthy.

I`m afraid Norris Hopper is going to get lost in the shuffle. He is a REAL ballplayer that does it all (except HRs).

In view of recent events it should now be obvious to everyone what Griffey's problem is - attitude. When a manager needs to adjust a player's attitude what should be his first consideration? "How will this help the team?" or, "How will the front office see this? Will my contract be renewed?" I think Griffey is a symtom of a larger problem. Look at Joe Torre of the Yankees. Steinbrenner calls the dugout during a game to dictate to Joe what move to make and Joe hangs up on him. Think that happens in Cincinnati? There's a reason Davey Johnson, Pinella, McKeon are gone. And one of the reasons the Reds have not been winning the big one is field manager intimidation by management or ownership.

No doubt about it - without question: Ken Griffey Jr. When you have player attitude problems you're not going to have a championship team unless you have overwhelming talent a la Big Red Machine. Griffey is not a 100% team player. He is playing a personal game and receives special consideration. Obviously the managers have not had free reign in dealing with him as he should have been dealt with. The first time he stood in the batter's box, and it happens occassionally, the manager should have sent the trainer to first base as a signal - "You hustle like everybody else. Anything else is not fair to your teammates. They want to win. You being in scoring postion could make the difference in winning and losing." In the major leagues you don't give the opposing team a free base. If that didn't cure the problem, the second time it happened a pinch runner should have been sent to first base. And if management won't back up the field manager maybe the wrong ownership is in place.
If Griffey goes maybe Dunn will wake up.
How's the chemistry in San Francisco with Bonds doing the same thing - playing a personal game? Are they a championship team? How does their record compare with Cincinnati?

I think its about time Narron was fired! He was a loser in Texas. And he brought that losing attitude here. He taught the Reds its ok to lose. Just make sure you do it with class. Also I faught him for putting Brandon Phillips in the 4th spot. Now he thinks he is a home run hitter instead of letting him use his speed & lead off!!! Thanks for getting rid of him. It was looonnngg overdue!!!

I would say ANYONE would be moveable that isn`t part of the Reds`s future. I`d say the core of Phillips, hamilton,Encarnacion, Hopper, Bailey need to remain intact. But the older guys who cost a lot and could help pennant bound teams might fetch at least some prospects. This team stands to lose a hundred games. I wouldn`t be too attached to ANYONE on the team. Oh, but they`ll lead the league in homeruns proving just how meaningless that is....

The Reds clearly are not going to make the playoffs, so who do you deal before the trading deadline?
I think they should try to shop Hatteberg or Conine. Some team making the stretch run will like to have a veteran presence in the clubhouse. However, you won't get much for either of them.
When Mike Stanton gets off the DL, they should deal him. Again, you won't get much.
Now for the biggies: do you deal Griffey or Dunn? A few weeks ago, I would have said deal Dunn and keep Griffey. Now, I think it might be better to keep Dun and deal Junior.
What do you think?
